Give a smile, get a smile ?

Inner struggles and external setbacks are an unavoidable part of life for us all.  But, as they say, you can get by with a little help from your friends.

Whether it’s a rough day or a tough season, light hearted humour can help lighten the load of those you love and care for.

When you can see a friend in need, you’re a friend indeed.  Here are a few card messages we thought were both encouraging and funny.

‘I believe in you…and unicorns.  But mostly you.’

‘You and chocolate are in my thoughts.  Hey, it can all be about you ;)’

‘This too shall pass.  And hopefully not like a kidney stone!’

‘At a time like this, don’t even bother with a bowl. Just grab a spoon and start shoveling that ice cream straight from the container’

‘Sorry things are crappy. If you need somebody to binge-watch a whole season of something with you, I’m there.’

‘I’m here.  And I have wine.’

A good laugh has great short-term effects. When you start to laugh, it doesn’t just lighten your load mentally, it actually induces physical changes in your body. It decreases your heart rate and blood pressure, it can also stimulate circulation and aid muscle relaxation, both of which can help reduce some of the physical symptoms of stress.

So not only are you letting those you love know they’re not alone, you’re looking after their mental and physical wellbeing.

Whether it’s an All Smiles Gift Hamper or a bottle of wine and chocolates, a big bunch of fresh, fragrant flowers or a little plant friend, there are so many wonderful ways to say ‘I care’.

And that’s what friends are for!
